Position: Operations/Facility Manager (Contract or  Full-Time)

This is a contract role with potential to full time for local candidates. The successful candidate may be provided accommodation during their tenure – minimum 3-month term if not residing in Montreal.

About The Role

Our client is looking for this exciting position!  As an Operations/Facility Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of a newly commissioned Polyethylene Fiber manufacturing facility. This position requires a strategic leader who can manage production workflows, uphold high-quality standards, and ensure a safe and productive work environment.

We are looking for an experienced professional to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. This is a unique opportunity to lead operational efforts and drive the success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage all aspects of plant operations in a Polyethylene Fiber facility, with a focus on efficient production processes and compliance with various quality and safety standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies and systems to enhance productivity, safety, and product quality.
  • Develop and track performance metrics and key performance indicators to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed to maintain compliance in safety, quality and all company standards.
  • Be an integral part of the people processes from hiring to onboarding and offboarding.
  • Steward the location’s assets, ensuring timely repairs and replacements as needed.
  • Work in collaboration with other functional leaders and business units to create an environment of safety and mentorship.
  • Continuously monitor efficiency and budget metrics to ensure key revenue metrics are being achieved.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years + of experience in a leadership position plant/facility environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in safety and regulatory requirements for plant operations.
  • Experience in creating and monitoring financial budgets and key metrics.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to multi-task and lead change in a fast -paced environment.
  • Have a passion for mentorship, efficiency and leading a high functioning team.
